CLIMBING EVENT WEEK

We’re holding a climbing themed event week together with Oulu climbing club -91 at Oulu climbing centre during 13.-19.4. During the week there will be varying offers, lectures on outdoor climbing in Scotland and Africa, a technique evening and a chance to tryout climbing on ropes among other things we’ve got planned! There will definitely be something interesting for you no matter if you’ve already climbed for multiple years or just want to give it a go.

Oulu climbing centre yearly member benefit: Our yearly members can bring two friends or family members to climb for free during the week. The  benefit will include the use of rental gear if needed.

Offers for the week:

• New 10x cards bought during this week get +1 entry
• New monthly card bought during this week get +5 days
• Climbing shoes, harnesses and belay devices -15 %
• We’re bringing back the return ticket for the week! When buying a climbing tryout for the first time or if it’s been a while since your last visit you can also buy a return ticket. The return ticket costs the same as a regular single entry but it also includes the use of rental equipment so you’ll save 7 € per person! The ticket is valid until the end of June.

Monday 13.4.

• Two for the price of one! The offer is valid for single entry payments and the tryout. If you pay for example entry + shoes, your friend will also get the same package.

Tuesday 14.4.

• OKS-91 club day – come and learn more about what the climbing club does and what benefits there are to joining them on Tuesday during 17-18. At the same time you can find out just how strong your fingers are by trying out the Tindeq grip strenght meter!
• At 19.00 the climbing club hosts a lecture on outdoor climbing in Scotland and Africa. There’s seating for max 35 people available!

Wednesday 15.4.

• Climbers sauna & hot tub turn! You can make use of the sauna and hot tub when you come climb and pay a 5 € sauna fee. The sauna is available from 18.00 to 00.00. This is a mixed sauna turn so remember to bring your own towel and swimsuit with you! You can also make use of the kitchen if you want to prep some food for yourself and friends. Just make sure to put away the dishes and gather your own trash or empty cans/bottles to their bins when you’re leaving.

Thursday 16.4.

• We’re providing a chance together with Oulu climbing club -91 to try out rope climbing in the rope hall during 14-20. Trying the rope climbing doesn’t cost anything extra. This is a great chance to try out top rope climbing if you haven’t had the chance before. Active climbers can also make use of the belayer if they’re free and your partner doesn’t show up! Just pay/sign the regular fee and look for the belayer.
• During 17.30-19.00 we will have a technique workshop that’s coached by Veera. You’ll go through the most requested subjects during the workshop. After the guided part, Veera will be around if you want to ask for tips on technique, training or want to know more about the coaching she offers. The price for the workshop is 35 € and we’ll take up to 6 people. You can sign up by sending an email to our info mail. The voting for subjects will be available soon!

Friday 17.4. 

• Student Friday discount for the whole day during our opening hours!  Just show your student card when you come to climb and you’ll get the entry for 6 € with shoes included.

Saturday 18.4.

• Route setting workshop during 8-16! The setters from Asetus climbing will hold a one day setting workshop in our 24/7 boulder. During the workshop you’ll get to make routes with the setters guidance. Other customers can try the routes once the workshop is finished. They can also vote which route had the coolest move, climbed the smoothest or just looked amazing. We’ll give the setters of the most voted routes small prizes! More info on the setting workshop will be announced soon when we get site going!
• Family turn is held as usual in the morning during 9-11 on the main hall side. During the family turn kids can climb for 5 €/kid and adults that climb with their kids can climb for 8 €/adult. The price includes the use of rental gear.

Sunday 19.4.

• We’re hosting Reel Rock 19 climbing movie in our sauna floor! The movie will start at about 17.30 and you can come watch it for 5 €/person. There’s only 30 tickets on sale so make sure you get your own in time! You can check out the line up for the movie from their website through here.
