We’re holding the Rope cup climbing competition again this year. The Rope cup has 3 competitions during the year and they’re held in between the rope route resets. We’ll set about 30 new routes for you to try spread among lead and top rope lines. The first part of the cup is held during Sat-Sun 24.-25.1. The second competition is in May and the last between September and October. You can participate in the competition by paying the normal entry fee or signing in with your card. The competition doesn’t restrict others from climbing freely on the walls.
The first cup is held during Sat-Sun 24.-25.1.
The second cup is held in May (well update the date when it’s locked in)
The third cup is held around September-October (well update the date when it’s locked in)
Series: Men’s and women’s top rope and lead series + a combined top rope category for under 16 year old participants. U16 participants can also take part in the adult’s lead series if they have the required qualifications to lead climb.
Participation: Arrive to our gym and either pay the normal entry fee or sign yourself in with your card. Decide whether you’ll climb top rope or lead and ask for the result card. You can only gain points for one category per competition. Try to climb as hard routes from your category as you can. The results will count 5 of your hardest climbs. The setters will mark the routes in an ascending order from easiest to hardest. The higher the number the harder the route. Remember to also mark how many attempts the routes took in case we need to settle tied scores. You will have the whole weekend to participate within our opening hours. If you couldn’t quite climb a route on the first day, you can come back on the next to try and send it!
Do note that when climbing in the top rope category, only the routes on top rope lines count towards your score. In the lead category all the routes count towards your score as long as you’ve climbed them in lead.
Each participants receives points to their chosen category according to their placement. The better you place the more points you earn. The winners of this years Rope cup will be the one’s with most points in each category. We’ll award the best men and women from top rope and lead + the best U16 climbers from top rope category. The main prizes will be given after the third competition is over and the winners are decided. If you have any questions regarding this competition, just contact us!
