Lumo Light Festival
Lumo Light Festival will be held in Oulu again during 19.-22.11.2026. We will host one of the show pieces for the event again in our climbing gym’s rope hall on Saturday 21.11. during 18.00-22.00. The show is organized together with Oulun kiipeilyseura -91, artist Sanni Kemppainen and DJ Ulina. In the Luomava kiipeilykeskus (~enchanting climbing centre) event you can see uv-art pieces made by Sanni Kemppainen art and listen to techno music by DJ Ulina. At the same time there will be climbers on the walls climbing all the way to 16m while illuminated by uv-lights. This year we will also offer visitors a chance to try climbing on top rope during the event. There will be one line reserved for this so you will have a chance to take part in the art piece while enjoying the view from up high.
Access
The event is free and the entry will be through our side door on the parking lot side (the door to the right from our covered main door). Exit will be through the back door in our rope hall. We will have guides at both doors. The show will be held at our bottom floor so you won’t need to go up or down on any stairs. There are a couple small (3-5 cm high) door steps but way is otherwise easily accessible.
How to get here?
If you arrive by car, you can make use of our parking lot in front of and on the side of our main building (paakakatu 7). There’s another large free parking lot close by at the address Alvar Aallon katu 1. If you arrive by public transport, the closest stop when coming from city center is Meri-Toppila P and when coming from north Meri-Toppila E. The bus stops are about 350 m walk from our climbing centre.
Effects on climbing during the day
The rope walls will be closed on Saturday 22.11. from 15.00 on so we will have enough time to set up the show. Other climbing walls and spaces are open as usual during opening hours.
